Manitoba has Canada’s largest aerospace composite manufacturing centre, an 850,000 square foot Boeing Commercial Aircraft composites component plant. With the addition of Magellan Aerospace’s F35 Lightning II composite manufacturing facility and the internationally acclaimed Composites Innovation Centre, Manitoba has developed a sophisticated and innovative composites analysis, design, testing, prototyping and manufacturing industry.

The Composites Innovation Centre Manitoba Inc. (CIC) is a not-for-profit corporation that is jointly sponsored by private industry and government. Its mandate is to support and stimulate economic growth through innovative research, development and application of composite materials and technologies for manufacturing industries.

The Composites Innovation Centre also leads Canadian Composites Manufacturing R&D Inc. (CCMRD), an industry-led consortium bringing together OEMs and Tier 1 aerospace companies with SMBs to develop and transform the latest technical and academic composites knowledge into practical solutions that will enhance Canada’s global competitiveness.
