Canadian Composites Manufacturing R&D Inc. (CCMRD)

The CCMRD brings together major aerospace companies and small-to-medium sized enterprises to develop and transform the latest technical and academic knowledge into practical solutions that will enhance Canada’s global competitiveness.

Canadian Light Source

The Canadian Light Source is Canada’s national centre for synchrotron research and a global centre of excellence in synchrotron science and its applications.  The CLS is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility advancing Canadian science and enhancing the competitiveness of Canadian industry.

Composite Innovation Centre (CIC)

The Composites Innovation Centre (CIC) is a not-for-profit corporation jointly sponsored by private industry and government that stimulates economic growth through innovative research, development and commercialization of composite materials and technologies.


EnviroTREC collaborates with Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney to support  the development of technology programs  and the operation of the GLACIER aero-engine test facility in Thompson, Manitoba.

Industrial Technology Centre

As a Special Operating Agency (SOA) of the Province of Manitoba, the Industrial Technology Centre (ITC) helps organizations to apply innovative tools and practices to improve products, increase productivity, and boost competitiveness.


Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada for 15 years. Working with 60 universities, thousands of companies, and both federal and provincial governments, we build partnerships that support industrial and social innovation in Canada.

Red River College – Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training (CATT)

A joint partnership between Red River College, Standard Aero,  and the Composite Innovation Centre,  RRC’s Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training represents a technology  cooperative providing  an applied research venue  with cutting-edge laser systems capable of welding, cladding and cutting.

Red River College –Centre for Non Destructive Inspection (CNDI)

Located at and operated in partnership with Magellan Aerospace,  the Centre is  RRC`s  second industrial campus created  to locate transformative technologies within industry, providing support and open access to industry and researchers.

Red River College – Technology Access Centre (TAC) for Aerospace and Manufacturing

The Technology Access Centre (TAC) supports industry by providing enhanced access to RRC’s technological assets, specialized facilities and subject matter expertise while working with the College on applied research projects.

UofM – Engineering

As the first university established in western Canada, the University of Manitoba has been at the centre of research and innovation in Manitoba for more than a century.

UofM – Engineer in Residence (EiR)

An Engineer in Residence  is an engineer from  industry appointed to the Faculty of Engineering  to share their real-world knowledge with the students, helping to graduate engineers who are ready to take on the challenges of the profession.

The Manitoba Institute for Materials is a portal for access to the University`s considerable expertise in materials research and characterization, foster collaboration between researchers from diverse disciplines form across the region.

UofM – Technology Transfer Office

Manitoba is home to great companies with great ideas.  The University`s Transformational Partnerships approach actively supports industry in making those innovation leaps through collaborative research and development.

West Canitest R&D (WestCaRD)

WestCaRD facilitates economic and technology growth  and R&D in the testing doman by collaborating with  GE Canada and StandardAero to facilitate year-round utilization of the GE Aviation Testing Research and Development Centre (TRDC).
